Lucy recruits solicitors and expert professionals for specialist and high-value legal practices, bringing more than 20 years’ senior experience within leading commercial sets of chambers, including significant business development and strategy work, to her advice to law firms on strategic hires and team growth.
Having spent two decades as a practice manager and barristers’ clerk, including many years at Magic Circle sets One Essex Court and Essex Court Chambers, she offers first-hand insight into how law firms, chambers and experts work together, giving her a distinctive perspective when helping firms build effective, high-performing teams.
Her Chambers background underpins her ability to recruit with commercial
judgement and cultural sensitivity, particularly where firms are seeking to grow niche practice areas or strengthen complex disputes teams. She advises on solicitor hiring, expert recruitment and succession planning, and is known for assessing talent not only on technical excellence, but also on client-handling skills, collaborative style and long-term potential.
She is known for managing complex stakeholder dynamics with discretion and judgement for building trusted, long term partnerships with firms, clients and candidates alike.
Alongside her recruitment work, Lucy has contributed to initiatives with the
Commercial Bar Association and the Chancery Bar Association on retention,
returning from parental leave and wellbeing at the Bar.
