Bill Conner brings over four decades of senior-level experience across the Bar and the wider legal sector, providing strategic recruitment, consultancy, and advisory support to law firms and legal practices through ABC Legal Talent.
A Bar Clerk for more than 40 years, Bill spent over 25 years as Senior Clerk to some of the most prestigious sets in the country, including the late George Carman QC’s Chambers at New Court, Temple, where he served for two decades, and the multi-disciplined set at 36 Bedford Row (now The 36 Group). This experience gives him a rare, end-to-end understanding of how high-performing advocates, specialists, and legal teams operate in practice - insight that directly informs his work with solicitors’ firms.
Bill’s Chambers background underpins his ability to advise law firms on recruitment, team structure, practice development, and talent strategy. Having worked closely with leading barristers and senior solicitors throughout his career, he brings a deep appreciation of the pressures facing modern legal practices, including client expectations, competition for talent, and the commercial realities of sustainable growth.
